Construction Changes Name to Purcell
Change is Part of Major Expansion Plan
STILLWATER, Minn. – May 17, 2002 – Purcell
Construction, a Stillwater-based premier home architecture and construction
company, today announced it has changed its name to Purcell. Specializing
in the renovation and expansion of quality homes, Purcell is one
of the largest full-service home architecture and construction companies
in the eastern Twin Cities.
The name change is part of a major expansion plan at the company,
which includes an aggressive new branding and marketing campaign,
and plans to open a second office and showroom in St. Paul. The
new Purcell name more accurately represents a broader offering of
home services. Most recently, Purcell added interior design, landscape
architecture and custom home building to its list of services, which
have always included renovation, restoration, additions and finishing
work.
“With the trend toward investing in your home, our business
has grown considerably,” said Tim Purcell, Jr., founder and
president of Purcell. “More and more, people are realizing
that their house is one of their best investments and they are also
spending more time at home, enjoying their families and entertaining
others.” Another trend, according to Purcell, is the focus
on neighbors and communities. “Our clients are in communities
that foster stability, including Stillwater and neighborhoods in
St. Paul, like Highland Park and the Summit/Grand area, so they’re
more likely to stay put. They are simply updating their homes to
best fit their changing lifestyles.”
Purcell is spearheading the company’s growth, by offering
unique advantages over other companies, such as on-staff architects
who are involved with every project and commitment to the highest
quality craftsmanship. “We are much more than a construction
company, and so we wanted our name to reflect our growth in other
services.
Purcell, a Stillwater native, founded the company in 1998. Since
then, it has grown into a team of 10 full-time staff members and
a network of more than 300 sub-contractors. With the ongoing interest
in home enhancement, Purcell expects continued significant growth
in the future, and has just completed comprehensive demographic
research to determine which markets in the Twin Cities best replicate
the characteristics of the Stillwater community. Purcell will use
this data to determine where to open a second office and showroom
to serve customers throughout the metropolitan area.
Purcell’s current projects include a multi-million dollar
renovation and expansion of a property in Stillwater and construction
of a custom executive home in May Township, which will be featured
in the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase, Oct. 11-13.
